Roommate searches!

Well I was looking for roommates for short term due to some personal situaltions....
Guess what another google search was born and the list of sites which I went for...
http://www.craigslist.org/ free and most effective search
http://www.roommates.com not free but decent list of roommates and strictly roommates
http://www.sulekha.com/ Free and paid both available. Noticed predominantly Asian crowd.

OK here is the finalist who helped me get to my target:

Tennis lessons in NY city!

Well this was yet another sport/activity I wanted to enroll and get better at.
So yes I hit one of the tennis clubs after a lot of research.
http://www.midtowntennis.com/
With this recession spending too even much for amusement can be risky...
So I hit my searches in google and called all the places for the rates and availability...
Then I found MidTown Tennis Club. Not bad for winter....
$150 for 4 classes and 1 hour each classes.
4 students per class and the teacher was pretty good.
One disadv... its frustrating to walk 3 blocks to get to the closest subway/path in winter from this spot. finding cabs was pretty easy..so no worries!

If you dont mind travelling a little bit for learning, NJ has cheaper rates.
I havent taken any, but the courts are so beautiful esp the ones in Ridgewood.
More details about jersey courts in my Tennis Courts in NJ blog ;)

Other sites I googled for are :
http://www.rirctennis.com/rates.htm
http://www.local.com/results.aspx?keyword=Tennis+Lessons&cid=3006&location=New+York,+NY&gid=Sports_&_Recreation-Search_Tennis_Lessons
http://www.yorkvilletennisclub.com/
http://www.championtennisclub.com/shop.htm

PS: If you are thinking the best cost effective way, lookup in Craigslist.com for trading talent. In sense you can trade one of your talent like language for free tennis lessons. Just be careful about the reckless crowd...

Make new friends in your town!

http://www.socialjane.com/

If you are like me, looking for new frends after work to chill in the city or around then go to http://www.socialjane.com/
Its a free subscription site where I enrolled and made 2 new friends in the city as I work in the city.
Not bad, if you are lucky and active its not that difficuilt to make frends which is obvious.
But you can also find buddies for touring, tennis and even book reading! true try it out.

As usual I did some research among various sites and found this pretty interesting.

Of all the paid site I found a FREE one (to some extent)

I have attached my test report in case if you want to peek before taking a test
I fall under ESFP after I went through the test
Tip: But one thing to keep in mind is, you have to be honest in the test to urself and not give answers cos
that may seem nice to say / claim that is your nature...
good or bad you shud choose you and not the right answer

I was told I fall under the following category:

Your Keirsey Temperament Sorter Results indicates that your personality type is that of the
Rational

Rationals are the problem solving temperament, particularly if the problem has to do with the many complex systems that make up the world around us. Rationals might tackle problems in organic systems such as plants and animals, or in mechanical systems such as railroads and computers, or in social systems such as families and companies and governments. But whatever systems fire their curiosity, Rationals will analyze them to understand how they work, so they can figure out how to make them work better.

In working with problems, Rationals try to find solutions that have application in the real world, but they are even more interested in the abstract concepts involved, the fundamental principles or natural laws that underlie the particular case. And they are completely pragmatic about their ways and means of achieving their ends. Rationals don't care about being politically correct. They are interested in the most efficient solutions possible, and will listen to anyone who has something useful to teach them, while disregarding any authority or customary procedure that wastes time and resources.

Rationals have an insatiable hunger to accomplish their goals and will work tirelessly on any project they have set their mind to. They are rigorously logical and fiercely independent in their thinking -- are indeed skeptical of all ideas, even their own -- and they believe they can overcome any obstacle with their will power. Often they are seen as cold and distant, but this is really the absorbed concentration they give to whatever problem they're working on. Whether designing a skyscraper or an experiment, developing a theory or a prototype technology, building an aircraft, a corporation, or a strategic alliance, Rationals value intelligence, in themselves and others, and they pride themselves on the ingenuity they bring to their problem solving.

Rationals are very scarce, comprising as little as 7 to 10 percent of the population. But because of their drive to unlock the secrets of nature, and to develop new technologies, they have done much to shape our world.

Rationals at Work
As a Rational, you seek to acquire and apply expertise. You thrive in an autonomous and intellectually stimulating workplace, working alongside other competent people, pursuing knowledge or creating systems. Your core need to follow the driving force of your own intelligence leads to particular career challenges. For example, recognition of your expertise may lead to your being put "in charge" of other people, as a manager, when you might prefer to remain immersed in projects of your own.

Because of your curious and imaginative nature, your ideal job may be just about anything that invites your creativity. You innovate as much as you are allowed in one position, then, if you hit a wall, you’ll often change paths to reinvent yourself. This may mean you shift your line of work entirely more than once in your career.

You’re the kind who’ll become acquainted with projects, people, and objectives in all corners of an organization just so you can conceptualize ways to make it better. Your mind moves quickly and this can make you an exciting leader to follow – when others can keep up! Delegating work, motivating others, and seeing things through, though, can sometimes be tedious for you. As a result, entrepreneurship might be a career path that you want to consider. That way, you will not only be able to produce the big ideas, you’ll have free reign to see them through.

This was one of my most weird searches, yet I exactly got results...
http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/327168

I am like the gazillion load of people types who like to Google for anything and almost everything...
Why did I want to blog that? Hmmm... Well I imagine everyone working in IT/software like to brag about starting a blog and have one. But where does it eventually go... NOWHERE.
The reason workgin in IT for long makes you eventually less creative, I know I know, whoever is reading this is DEFINITELY not going to agree. But truth. Why? Imagine all day you are stressed about work, doing work and finding ways to keep your work...How can that not change whatever personality you posess. So... Long story short, I am not here to write philosophycally nor really write cos I suck.
I am here to just keep posting my google searches from past, some can be mind boggling why did I search for as simple as that to some can be, Hey I was exactly lokoing for this...
So read it if you find it useful, I am gonna use my tiny space of bloggng universe.
BTW, forgot to mention how I think mine will be different from the squad! Cos I am not gonna write long stories like this, just gonna keep posting my finding of the day for everyday cos I end up googling something in the end.
And I want to look back and see after few years on what crazy crap have I looked up for and laff!
So I think I am going to be able to get topics unlike other bloggers WHO WISH! lol
